Rica Terbeck experienced her first African Cup of Nations in Tunisia 2004. Two years after her first visit, Rica was back again at the biggest African football showpiece in Egypt.
This 25-year-old German is a die-hard fan of Bundesliga side, Werder Bremen. Aside from her native German language, she also speaks Arabic, English, Spanish and French quite well. Rica told Radio B.A.R Sports that her first really awesome football experience of Egypt 2006 was her trip to Port Said where after two days Nigeria played Ghana before Zimbabwe had to face Senegal. ”What I saw in the Port Said Stadium was REAL African football, which cannot even be spoiled by cheer sticks and plastic hands”, Rica said. Once again the Nigerian fans with their wind instruments impressed me.
When asked if she would like to watch CAN 2008 in Ghana Rica said,” I have Ghana 2008 in my heart .
On my way home, while struggling through Cairo's completely blocked streets and enjoying the celebrating masses, I was thinking of the African Cup 2008 in Ghana. I would love to see the Black Stars against the Super Eagles in the final”.
