Defensive midfielder for the Black Meteors of Ghana, Michael Agbekornu has stressed that he is going to give off his best against South Africa on Friday to help the side end the CAF U-23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament with a third-place finish.

The West Africans will go into the match determined to emerge victorious at all costs especially knowing that it will be the only way to keep their hopes of securing qualification to the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games alive.

Ahead of the crucial third-place game, midfielder Michael Agbekornu says he will play his heart out for Ghana if his manager Ibrahim Tanko hands him another starting role.

“My expectations for the south Africa game is to give out my maximum best if I get the chance to play. We are going all out so that we can qualify for the Olympics because this is the only chance for us”, he said as quoted by Ghanacrusader.com.

The hardworking midfielder has been fortunate to feature in all matches of the Black Meteors and has managed to perform well. He is expected to be in the middle of the park one last time at the U-23 AFCON when Ghana takes on South Africa on Friday, November 22, 2019, at the Cairo International Stadium.

Kick off time for that match is at 14:30GMT.
