The Black Stars of Ghana have safely returned to Ghana after posting a 1-0 win over São Tomé and Principe on Monday afternoon in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

The two countries have been pitted in Group C of the qualifiers and locked horns in the second game of the series at the Estádio Nacional 12 de Julho earlier this afternoon.

At the end of a difficult encounter, the Black Stars managed to get the job done as they defeated the Falcons and True Parrots at their own backyard.

Crystal Palace striker Jordan Ayew scored the only goal of the match with his 50th-minute penalty kick ensuring his side amassed all 3 points from the game. The victory has now sent Ghana to the top of the Group C standings ahead of Sudan and South Africa who are sitting second and third respectively.

The Black Stars have arrived in Ghana this evening with players expected to return to their various clubs on Tuesday.
