German-born Ghanaian striker Christopher Antwi-Adjei has safely arrived in Ghana as he joins the Black Stars in camp hours to the team’s match against the Bafana Bafana in the qualifiers to the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

The forward received his maiden call-up to the national team this month but could not join the squad on time following some issues relating to his paperwork as well as some club matters.

After several consultations, the FC Paderborn’s attacker was given the green light to join the Black Stars and has today arrived in Ghana.

A statement on the Ghana Football Association (GFA) official Twitter handle confirmed, “SC Paderborn's Christopher Antwi-Adjei has arrived in the country and he's on his way to the Black Stars camp in Cape Coast from Accra”.

It continued, “He will, however, not be part of the match-day squad against South Africa this evening due to his late arrival”.

With Ghana set to lock horns with South Africa tonight, Christopher Antwi-Adjei is expected to miss the game but should be ready to feature against Sao Tome and Principe in the next AFCON qualifier.
