Coach Kwasi Appiah and his skipper, Andre Dede Ayew, have assured football fans of booking a place in the Cameroun 2021 AFCON tournament.

Ghana will kick start their qualification series against South Africa at the Cape Coast Stadium today [Thursday, November 14] before playing Sao Tome away in four days time.

While coach Appiah said they would reciprocate the gesture of Ghanaians by making them happy when they engage The Bafana Bafana, the Swansea City ace has given full assurance that the team would not rest until they booked a place in the Cameroun 2021 tournament.

The team which arrived in Cape Coast on Tuesday have already started training, hoping to be in good shape as they await their opponents in the tough encounter

Speaking to the media in Cape Coast, Coach Appiah noted: "We really appreciate the support Ghanaians have shown us so far; right from Accra, Winneba, Mankessim and Cape Coast. It's now time for us to reciprocate by giving out our best to make our nation happy”.

For his part, Andre Ayew said as leader of the side, he had the responsibility to psyche his colleagues for them to deliver and make the nation proud.

“There is always a responsibility on us to make sure we make our country proud. We accept this responsibility. We won't always get it right, but we are determined to be up there again.

“You don't play in the national team without pressure...then you don't know what is ahead of you. A football player is one who wants to get back from a setback. We want to do much for our country by qualifying from this’, he assured.
