Ghana is set to come up against its counterpart from Egypt in the second Group A match of the ongoing CAF U-23 Africa Cup of Nations (ACFON) tournament.
The 8-nation tournament is being staged in Egypt this year with the participating teams seeking for continental glory as well as the right to represent the continent in the 2020 Olympic Games has been scheduled to take place in Tokyo, Japan.
After an entertaining start to the tournament, the Pharaohs managed to bag 3 points from their first match when they defeated Mali last Friday. For the Black Meteors, they narrowly escaped defeat as they drew 1-1 with Cameroon at the Cairo International Stadium.
In the second round of matches for Group A, Ghana will be coming up against the host nation later this evening in search of 3 points to enhance the team’s chances of progressing to the next stage of the tournament.
The match promises to be very difficult for either side but a win for coach Ibrahim Tanko and his charges will surely take them a step closer to securing a spot in the knockout phase.
The crucial game will be played at the Cairo International Stadium and will kick of at 18:00GMT.
