The Central Region Football Association Chairman, Robert Duncan has insisted that the Cape Coast Stadium is in the best shape to host South Africa in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Ghana will hist the Bafana Bafana on November 14th, 2019 at the Cape Coast Stadium before jetting off to face Sao Tome four days later.
Speaking to Spice FM ahead of the game, Robert Duncan debunked claims suggesting that the pitch is in good form for the game.
“I don’t understand why we will use a pitch in a poor state for a Black Stars game.
“The same thing happened during the AWCON, people said the pitch wasn’t in good shape but it ended up hosting the tournament.
“Those people aren’t technical people, the pitch goes through a routine maintenance, the grass on the pitch is intentionally grown with fertilizer, so a time will come when we will do maintenance and shape the grass and not like a new stadium where everything is done afresh,” he added.
