Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey has admitted to making personal mistakes in Atletico Madrid’s defeat to Bayer Leverkusen on Wednesday night but says he will keep working hard to help the team.

The Black Stars midfield enforcer was handed another start in the Uefa Champions League on the night when the Spanish top-flight side locked horns with the German side at the Bay Arena on matchday 4 of the European competition.

In a game that produced a bit of everything, the Rojiblancos lost 2-1 to the Bayern side with Partey netting a rare own goal in the first half as early as the fourth minute.

A second-half strike from Kevin Volland for Leverkusen took the game away from Atletico Madrid even though they scored a consolation through Alvaro Morata. That goal was assisted by Thomas Partey who enjoyed 90 minutes.

In a Twitter post after the game, the Ghanaian shared, “Difficult match with personal mistakes but it is part of football. I will continue to work hard to help this team πŸ’ͺπŸΎπŸ™πŸΎ#kiragang#alwayspositive @ BayArena”.

He managed to pick himself up and showed his quality throughout the game even though it was not enough to save the Madrid-based side from defeat.
