The Black Meteors of Ghana have left the shores of the country to Egypt ahead of the 2019 edition of the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations which starts on November 8.
The entire team left the shores of Ghana on Monday afternoon after checking in at the Kotoko International airport.
Nineteen players and together with team officials made the trip to Egypt this afternoon ahead of the start of the AFCON.
Ropapa Mensah and FC Utrecht forward Abass Issah will join the team in Egypt later.
Ghana will open their campaign against Cameroon on November 8, before facing Egypt and Mali on 11 and 14 November respectively.
The Black Meteors will be eyeing one of the three slots to book qualification to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
Ghana’s last appearance at the Olympic football tournament was in Athens in 2004.
