General Captain for the Black Stars of Ghana, Asamoah Gyan is currently in talks with Indian Super League side NorthEast United ahead of a possible transfer, information reaching Modernghana sports has revealed.

The former Sunderland striker is currently in the West African country overseeing the Baba Jet U-16 tournament as well as attending to some other pressing matters.

He is without a club following his decision not to extend his contract with Turkish Super Lig side Kayserispor after the expiry of his contract at the end of the 2018/2019 season.

Having recently represented Ghana at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament where the team was knocked out at the round of 16 stage, Gyan is hoping to secure a move to a new club in order to start off his season.

It is understood that the feared forward is now in advanced talks with NorthEast United FC who are looking for a replacement for Nigerian Bartholomew Owogbalor who netted 12 times for the side last season.

The Indian club is hoping to secure the services of Asamoah Gyan to help them challenge for the Indian League which is expected to start this weekend.
