Prof. of Chinese medicine recommends table tennis

Accra, Feb.21, GNA - A Professor of Chinese herbal Medicine, Dr Kofi Ghartey has expressed his desire to assist the Ghana Table Tennis Association to develop.

Professor Ghartey who said this in an interview with the GNA sports, underscored the importance of table tennis for physical development of especially the youth and mentioned the Chinese and Japanese style of table tennis as the best form of exercising one's reflexes and cardio vascular system.

The Prof. who is also a renowned ophthalmic optician and an inventor said it "it is amazing how many diseases you will not catch just by playing table tennis.

The body was made to move and if you don't move your body, the water system in your body becomes stagnant, resulting in most illnesses" explained the medical expert.

The Chief Executive of Sight for Africa Medical Centre said within the next month or two, he will meet the stakeholders involved in table tennis for financial and material support to help improve the sports. "Tennis has no age limit. So long as you have the strength to do the sports, that's the only qualification you need" he added.
