William Amponsah, winner of the 2019 Millennium Marathon has been given his award of a brand new salon car from Japan Motors.
Ambassador Ashim Morton disclosed to Yours Truly that the winner was given the car at the end of the race.
The GCB Millennium Marathon 2019 half marathon Champion was William Amponsah of Ghana. He placed first in a time of 1:06:22,
Josphat Kipkoech from Kenya was second in a time of 1:06:40, with Ismael Arthur also from Ghana taking the third place in a time of 1:06:40.
The Millennium Marathon Sports Company congratulates all winners and participants as well as GCB, the headline sponsor.
Speaking on his success, William Amponsah said “ I am grateful to God Almighty, my management, teammates and fans especially the people of Agona Swedru for backing me up till now. I am now eying more challenging competitions both at home and abroad.”
Amponsah called on all parent and leaders in the society to support children when they show interest in running because it can bring also bring fame and fortune just like soccer does.
In the female division, Azuure Elizabeth from the north of Ghana also emerged tops with a time of 1:22:48 in the 21kilometer race.
