Impressive Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Majeed Ashimeru has noted that the Ghana u-23 is ready to dispatch their counterpart from Algeria when they lock horns at the Accra Sports Stadium later this afternoon.

The two teams meet in a crucial match today as they target qualification to the 2019 U-23 Cup of Nations (CAN) tournament expected to be hosted by Egypt in November.

Ghana received a massive boost earlier this week following the arrival of foreign-based players to augment the in-depth quality of players plying their trade on the local scene.

Speaking in an interview with the media, Majeed Ashimeru who is one of the foreign players has stressed that the players are ready for the upcoming assignment.

“We trained in the morning and this afternoon as well. Everyone is ready. As you can see everyone is from outside the country and everyone was playing in their team so I think that everyone is ready and we are ready to go for it”,

“Everyone is looking forward to the game and I think it has been years that we haven’t qualified for the Olympics. Me and my teammates, everyone knows how important it is. I think we are ready and hopefully we can do something better”, the former WAFA player indicated.

The match will kick off at 15:30GMT.
