Chelsea defender Baba Rahman signed a one-year contract extension – and was then immediately loaned out to Real Mallorca.
It has left fans fuming that the “poor man” can’t be “put out of his misery” and sold.
Left-back Rahman, who joined the Blues from German side Augsburg in the summer of 2015, is now tied to the Premier League club until 2022.
He will remain in La Liga for the duration of the 2019-20 campaign, according to Chelsea’s website.
One supporter wrote: “Just sell the bloke and stop this loaning nonsense.”
Alex Thomas posted that it was “pure confusion” why matt Levy wrote: “Just sell him he’s useless!”
Another told the club to “free this guy”, while many “forgot he was still there”.
Oliver Clarke commented: “Another player we should be selling and not loaning.”
One Blues’ follower added: “Why? just put him out of his misery man. sell the man. set him free.”
Many were surprised he wasn’t been given a chance this season with Emerson the first choice so far and an out-of-form Marcos Alonso his back-up.
Rahman made his Chelsea debut in a 4-0 Champions League win over Maccabi Tel Aviv in September 2015 and has played 23 times for the club in all competitions.
Mallorca are back in the Spanish top flight having been promoted via the play-offs last season.
