Goalkeeper for Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Felix Annan has expressed his delight after helping his side post a 2-0 win over Kano Pillars to ensure they progressed into the next round of this year’s CAF Champions League.

The Porcupine Warriors hosted the Nigerian giants at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday afternoon and managed to overturn a 3-2 deficit from the first leg to emerge as 4-3 aggregate winners at the end of the second leg.

Speaking in a post-match interview, Felix Annan has shared that he is happy with the win because it was the aim of the team to secure progression to the next round of the inter-club competition organized by the continent’s football governing body.

“This is what we have always wanted. We got the experience from last season and it was something special. So for us to qualify to the next round is really exciting for us”.

“We are really happy that we are going to the next round because it would have been a big blow if we couldn’t qualify because the expectation was really high and looking at the fans if you don’t win for them you as a footballer it feels your job hasn’t been done”, the Black Stars goalkeeper said after the Reds beat Kano Pillars.

Meanwhile, Kotoko has booked a date with Tunisia side Etoile du Sahel in the second round of the CAF Champions League.
