Ghanaian striker Shafiu Mumuni is expected to be key for the success of Obuasi Ashanti Gold when they take on Akonangui FC in the CAF Confederations Cup this weekend, defender Eric Donkor has emphasized.
The Miners face a daunting task in the Equatorial Guinea side when the two clubs lock horns in the second leg of the preliminary stage of this year’s CAF Confederations Cup.
The Ghana Premier League side hold a slight advantage over their opponent following the 1-1 draw result they earned from the first leg when they traveled to Ebebiyín. Deadly striker Shafiu Mumuni could not make the trip but is available to feature for hid side in the return leg.
Speaking in a pre-match interview with Cafonline.com, Ashgold defender Eric Donkor has indicated that the availability of Shafiu gives the team inspiration because of what he adds to their attacking third.
“Mumuni (Shafiu) is an inspiration to the team. He manages to lift the team up when the going gets tough and his presence will add more bite to our play up front in Saturday’s game”, he said.
The match will be played at the Len Clay Stadium on Saturday, August 24, 2019, with Kick-off time set at 15:00GMT.
