Head Coach for Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Kjetil Zachariassen has indicated that the support of fans in their second leg tie of the first qualifying round of the CAF Champions League against Kano Pillars will be key to steer his side to victory.

The Porcupine Warriors traveled to Nigeria for the first leg of the encounter last weekend but unfortunately lost 3-2 despite putting up a very good performance throughout the entire duration of the match.

The two away goals complementing the narrow defeat means that the Ghana Premier League side have their destiny in their own hands when they welcome their Nigerian opponent to Kumasi for the second leg later this month.

Speaking in an interview ahead of the return leg, Kotoko coach Kjetil Zachariassen has noted that the presence of fans on the matchday will be vital for the team in their quest for triumph to ensure they progress into the next qualifying round.

“We love them and they also love us. They have very good support for us. We like to play football for them and I hope they come to Baba Yara and do their thing because it is going to be a very very good match over there”, the Norwegian tactician said.

The match will be played on Sunday, August 25, 2019, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
