Ghanaian international, Mubarak Wakaso has returned from his hamstring injury in time ahead of the opening weekend of the Spanish La Liga where his side, Deportivo Alaves will be expected to lock horns with UD Levante.
The hardworking midfielder has been a doubt for the upcoming fixture after he picked up an injury in his side’s 3-2 loss to lower-division side Real Zaragoza on penalties at the Carlos Lapetra Cup last week.
Tests run by the medical staff of the team had ruled him out of the Levante match but he has managed to shake off the injury and returned to training this afternoon.
The 29-year-old defensive-minded midfielder has given Deportivo Alaves a huge boost ahead of the weekend fixture and will be instrumental in midfield if he is called upon to feature.
He has 5 days to train with his teammates to try and convince his technical staff that he deserves a spot on the team’s starting lineup when they host Levante at the Mendizorrotza Stadium on Sunday.
Wakaso recently enjoyed a very good campaign with the Black Stars at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) where he emerged as one of the best midfielders at the tournament.
He will be hoping to continue in that form when the season starts this weekend.
