Accra, Feb 13, GNA - The Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) has fixed Sunday, February 25 as the commencement date for this year's Top Four Tourney.

The fiesta, which preludes the Premiership, spans four weeks. Joseph Yaw Appiah, Chairman of GHALCA told the GNA Sports that financial details of the competition would be publicised after a meeting this Thursday with the participating clubs, Kumasi Asante Kokoto, Accra Hearts of Oak, King Faisal and Berekum Arsenal. "We will announce the full package after meeting with the Clubs on Thursday".

He was however tight-lipped about the sponsors of the competition, which was previously funded by LG Electronics Company and soft drink giants Coca Cola Ghana Limited.

Maiden winners, Hearts would use the El-Wak Stadium in Accra, Kotoko and Faisal would alternate with the use of the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium while debutants, Arsenals would use their favourite Berekum Golden City Park.

Hearts, Kotoko and Faisal have been previous winners of the lucrative competition that has established a great reputation since its inception four seasons ago.

This year's competition has becomes the first time that the holder of the trophy and defending champion has failed to qualify, when the champs, Kpando Heart of Lions' mediocre performances last season ensured they missed out of the competition that parades the finest on the local front.

The quartet would use the competition as a dress rehearsal to their respective participation in the MTN/Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League and Confederations Cup as Ghana's ambassadors.
