Normalization Committee Settles On September 5 To Hold GFA Extra-Ordinary Congress
12.08.2019 LISTEN

The Normalization Committee put in charge by FIFA to restore normalcy to football in the country has finally settled on Thursday, September 5, 2019, to hold the GFA Extra-Ordinary Congress.

The decision comes on the back of at least 3 date changes in the past week following various concerns raised by football administrators and other stakeholders in relations to the current statutes of the football association in the country.

After deliberating on the concerns, the Normalization Committee has set September 5 as the final date for the Congress which will decide the fate of the new statutes being proposed by the interim body.

Below is the full statement:
The Normalization Committee of the GFA, in its quest to fully comply with relevant provisions of the Statutes of the GFA without ambiguity, has rescheduled the Extra Ordinary Congress of the GFA from Wednesday August 19 to Thursday September 5, 2019.

The rescheduling clears any ambiguity over interpretation of relevant provisions of the GFA Statutes by stakeholders, regarding the number of days required for Extra Ordinary Congress as well as the agenda for the Extraordinary Congress as earlier communicated.

The rescheduling also offers us the unique opportunity of welcoming to Ghana a FIFA representative as a special guest for this historic Congress.

We are looking forward to welcoming our stakeholders for what is anticipated to be a very successful Congress towards the forward match of Ghana football.

Thank you.
