Ghana Premier League giants, Kumasi Asante Kotoko has been given a huge boost following the return of winger Maxwell Baako from injury as they start their campaign in the CAF Champions League competition.
The pacey and trickery attacker picked up an injury in last season's CAF Confederation Cup match against Nkana FC in Zambia. Having been sidelined for months, he has finally regained fitness and has started personal training.
With the Porcupine Warriors beginning their campaign in the CAF Champions League this weekend, Baako’s return to training will surely come as a piece of good news even though he cannot play a part in the first leg of the clash with Nigerian side Kano Pillars.
The former Wa All Stars forward could be available when Kotoko hosts their first-round opponent at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium a week from today.
Though it is hard to predict if he will be in the best shape for that tie, he looks good in training and might just earn back his position in the team when he meets up with his teammates when they return from the Kano trip.
The first leg of the tie between Kano Pillars and Kotoko comes off later today at the Sani Abacha Stadium at 15:00GMT.
