Accra, Feb. 10, GNA - The Every Accountable Ghanaian Living Everywhere (E-gle) Party has urged its members to support the demonstration against the passage of the Representation of the Peoples Amendment Bill (ROPAB) on Saint Valentine's Day, a statement by the Party said on Friday.

A group calling itself 'Patriotic Ghanaians', has given notice to embark on a demonstration on February 14, to draw support against the passage of the Bill.

"The E-gle Party believes strongly that this attempt by NPP to push the ROPAB Bill is an attempt to institutionalise a rigging machinery to be effected in 2008 general election", said the statement, signed by its Chairman, Danny Ofori-Atta.

"The E-gle Party warns that, this time round, 'we no go sit down make them cheat us everyday', the E-gle Party will come out with an equivalent of the NPP Action Troopers", the statement said. The Party called on all its sympathisers to "show their love" to mother Ghana by joining the planned demonstration.

It reminded the ruling NPP government that they inherited a peaceful and stable country and should thus not through "this reckless Bill" plunge Ghana into catastrophe as witnessed in Ivory Coast.

"We say to NPP. We need peace. We need stability and we need our democracy", the statement said.
