Ghanaian International Jeffrey Schlupp has started pre-season training with English Premier League side Crystal Palace after joining his teammates in Switzerland last week.

The versatile player missed out on representing Ghana at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament after sustaining an injury prior to the end of the 2018/2019 season.

Having recovered from the injury, the defender has joined his Crystal Palace teammates in Switzerland where they are holding their pre-season training tour.

The 26-year old will be hoping to get some minutes when the Eagles take part in the Uhrencup.

The tournament which is an annual cup founded in 1962 by representatives of Gretchen's watchmaking industry held in Grenchen and Biel/Bienne and typically features four teams playing two games each.

The English Premier League side is expected to play at least two matches in the upcoming tournament. For their first test though, they will come up against FC Luzern on Tuesday, July 9, 2019.

From there on they will play reigning Swiss Super League champions BSC Young Boys at Stadium Neufeld, Bern, on Saturday, July 13.

Schlupp who flourishes as a defender and a winger will be hoping to impress to ensure he gets a starting role when the 2019/2020 season starts.
