Head Coach for the Black Stars of Ghana, James Kwesi Appiah has indicated that the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia will not be a pushover when the two sides meet in the round of 16 of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament later today.
Ghana after emerging as winners of Group F at the end of the preliminary stage of this year’s tournament is set to honour a date with Tunisia later this evening to battle for the final spot of the quarter-finals.
Though the North African country finished Group F without winning any of their three matches, they are said to have shown resilience and will surely not come easy when they play the West African country today.
Speaking in a pre-match press conference on Sunday ahead of the round of 16 fixture, Black Stars head coach Kwesi Appiah noted that the clash will be very entertaining. Nonetheless, he insists Tunisia will not come easy and his team will have to perform at a high level to ensure they beat them.
“I think tomorrow’s game is going to be very entertaining. Both teams I believe are very strong. I have always said that I have total respect for any team that came for this competition and personally I trust that Tunisia is not a bad team that you can just walk over them. We all need to work hard and make sure that we give the spectators a good game to watch”.
The match will be played at the Ismailia Stadium at 19:00GMT.
