JUL 5, 2019 LISTEN

Former Deputy Sports Minister O.B Amoah has revealed that ideally, Ghana should be able to dispatch Tunisia when the two countries lock horns in the round of 16 of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

The Black Stars who emerged as winners of Group F at the end of the preliminary stage has booked a date with the Carthage Eagles who also finished as runners-up in Group E.

The West African Country is bidding to win a 5th AFCON title this year and has managed to reach the knockout stage. They, however, face a daunting task in Tunisia who has maintained an unbeaten record after 3 matches from the group stage.

Speaking in an interview with Happy FM, former Deputy Sports Minister O.B Amoah has cautioned the Black Stars to be wary of the North African side because they are a very dangerous opponent.

Despite imploring the team to stay focused ahead of the match, O.B Amoah further shared that the Black Stars should be able to beat their round of 16 opponent easily.

“If you ask me, the Black Stars’ should be able to beat Tunisia easily but we should be very careful of these North African teams, they are very dangerous”.

“The coach and the players should study them very well. They like long fast football so Ghana should be able to tackle then on that very well. They can’t be underestimated but we should be able to beat them”, the former Sports Minister noted.

The match will be played at the Ismailia Stadium on Monday, July 8, 2019.
