Midfielder Benjamin Afutu has been adjudged the man of the match in Accra Hearts of Oak’s emphatic 3-1 win over Elmina Sharks in the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Normalization Committee (NC) Special Competition.

The two sides locked horn on Sunday, May 19, 2019, on match week 13 of the Special Competition. Whiles the Phobians wanted the 3 points to cement their top finish, Sharks, on the other hand, were chasing victory to have any chance of qualifying to the next phase of the competition.

At the end of the proceedings, Hearts came out on top beating their opponent by three goals to one at the Accra Sports Stadium. Following the victory, match officials have selected Benjamin Afutu as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the day.

The Rainbow lad was unplayable during the entire match and was very instrumental for his side’s victory. His hard work and his ability to pass the ball was very impressive on the day as it helped his team to dominate the midfield and the match in general.

With one match to spare, Hearts has booked a place in the semi-finals of the competition having amassed a total of 28 points from 13 matches. They will travel to Dawu to play Dreams FC on match week 14.
