Head Coach for Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Charles Kwablah Akonnor has disclosed that he is looking forward to trying some new players when his side hosts Asec Mimosas in the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Cup match later this month.
Organizers of the cup match, Primeval Consult earlier this week confirmed that the Porcupine Warriors will face their Ivorian counterparts to honour Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Cup match.
Speaking in an interview with the media following the side’s 1-0 win over Techiman Eleven Wonders yesterday, CK Akonnor shared that there is the possibility that he will try some of the other players in the squad when they face Asec.
“Am hoping that even in that match we will have the chance of trying some new players that we believe can help us in the future. A player who has been with us, trained with us for a longer period of time before that day will come”, the gaffer said.
He added, “And so we are looking forward to that but first of all it think it is important that we focus on the local competition currently going on”
The match has been scheduled to take place on Sunday, May 26, in commemoration of the 20th Anniversary celebration of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, who ascended the throne 20 years ago.
