Head Coach for Hearts of Oak, Kim Grant was left delighted following his side’s 1-0 victory over Karela United at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday afternoon in the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Normalization Committee (NC) Special Competition.

The Phobians paid the Anyinase based side in full in a match week 12 fixture after suffering a similar scoreline earlier in the season when they made the trip to the Crosby Awuah Memorial (CAM) Park.

The two sides despite creating a lot of chances on the day could not utilize them as the game produced just one goal. Fortunately enough for the home side, it went their way with Christopher Bonney converting a penalty kick in the second half to hand them the important triumph.

Speaking in a post-match interview with GTV, Coach Kim Grant shared that he was pleased with the solid performance displayed by his lads on the field of play to help them cruise past their opponent.

“Overall am really pleased because it was very solid (the performance). We did well against Dwarfs but today we came here and I knew that if we kept a clean sheet we will get the chance and obviously we had a couple of chances and we put them away”, he noted.

He added, “Am really pleased for the boys because they have worked extremely hard. Am delighted and I look forward to the next games”.

By virtue of that result, Hearts has become the first team from both Premier A and B to book a place in the next phase of the NC Special Competition.
