MAY 13, 2019 LISTEN

Black Stars head coach, James Kwesi Appiah has threatened to resign if Sulley Muntari and Kevin Prince Boateng are imposed on him for 2019 AFCON.

This comes after Chairman of the GFA Normalization Committee, Dr Kofi Amoah revealed that he has proposed that the duo should be considered ahead of the tournament in June.

But information from the camp of Kwesi Appiah indicates that the coach refuses to back down, increasing tension and a possibility of a standoff with the governing body.

According to reports, the former Al Khartoum manager is ready to quit his post if he loses it out in the battle of wills.

The two players were slapped with indefinite suspensions for various acts of indiscipline during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Boateng was sacked from the camp for verbally assaulting coach Kwesi Appiah while Muntari was dismissed from the team for physically attacking Ghana FA official Moses Armah.

The 32nd edition for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations will start from June 21 to July 19.
