Daniel Nii Mensah CEO of Dan DeVan Group of Companies has disclosed that the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) has inspired and motivated him to do more for disabled and deprived sportsmen and women in Ghana.

Speaking to Yours Truly on the 44th MTN SWAG Awards which he has been named to receive recognition and honour, he said the award will urge him to do more.

Daniel Nii Mensah is a businessman with deep interest in supporting Para Sports.

He sponsors the Ghana Amputee Football League and the Ghana Wheel Chair Tennis Tournament.

He said the disabled people are also human beings who must be supported and he feels overjoyed in helping them also to smile or laugh.

He noted that disability is not that one can not do anything or be deprived of joy and happiness, but all persons on earth deserve some joy, so he has taken up the challenge to support Amputee Football and Wheel Chair Tennis.

He said some of the disabled sports people are very intelligent and must be supported so that they do not go to the streets to beg for alms.

He congratulated the Die Hard Sports Supporters and the media for recognizing his efforts and thanked the executive of SWAG.

“With this prestigious award, I promise to do more so that I get more support and sponsorship for our disabled sportsmen and women” he expressed.

Meanwhile, SWAG has cancelled this year’s nominations for the Association President of the Year and promised to bring it back next year.

The 44th SWAG Awards Night is on Saturday, May 11, 2019, with award-winning musician, Samini and the ASA Band entertaining guests.
