Black Stars defender Rashid Sumaila claims Ghana can only win the AFCON if they are able to get to the finals of the tournament to be staged in Egypt.
According to the Red Star Belgrade player, Ghana has the quality to lift the trophy.
“We have great players and I feel we can do something very meaningful in Egypt,” he told footballmadeinghana.com.
“We have come close twice and we can win it this third time if we get to the finals. It is always great to serve your nation and we are all ready to offer our quota if we are called.”
Ghana have lost the finals twice in 2010 and 2015 after trying to end the nation’s 37-year drought of an AFCON trophy.
Ghana is in Group F with the likes of Cameroon, Benin and Guinea-Bissau as they seek to lift the flag of Ghana high by winning the tournament which starts in June.
