Karela United played a 2-2 draw with Inter Allies at the Tema Sports Stadium this afternoon to earn an important point to keep the pressure on Accra Hearts of Oak who are top of the Premier B standings in the Normalization Committee (NC) Special Competition.

The Anyinase based side after going behind as early as the 5th minute to the home side managed to score two goals through prolific striker Diawisie Taylor. They could however now hold on to the lead as Abdul Nassiru Hamzah restored parity for Allies on the 85th minute.

The draw sees Karela stay on 2nd position behind Hearts of Oak with a point differential of one. The Phobians would have stretched the lead at the top but after failing to get the victory over 10-man Liberty Professionals, they are well within catching distance of Karela and WAFA who are in 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.

The division is getting tougher by the day with as many as five teams in contention to book qualification to the next phase of the competition. It will surely come down to the team that will be able to keep their consistency in the next couple of games.

Only the top two teams from this division will qualify to the next stage of the Special Competition in pursuit of the opportunity to represent Ghana in CAF’s Inter-Club competitions.
