South African giants, Orlando Pirates have apologized to Asante Kotoko over Songne Yacouba according to the Communications Director of the club, Lawyer Sarfo Duku.
Asante Kotoko livewire, Songne Yacouba was strongly linked to the PSL side after his impressive heroics in the CAF Confederations Cup.
According to Mr Duku, Pirates wrote to the player without the knowledge of the club.
"Before Orlando Pirates wrote to Asante Kotoko, they had written to the player earlier about a week before they wrote to us that he should travel to South Africa to familiarize with the team," he told Oyerepa FM.
"Asante Kotoko got wind of this and wrote to them asking why they did so. They replied apologising for their actions and accepted they erred.
"This was a clear case of inducement or better still tapping but we didn't want to create problems for the player," he added.
The Burkinabe is yet to feature for the Porcupine Warriors in the ongoing Normalization Committee Special Competition.
