Godfred Saka, former Aduana Stars skipper is on the verge of returning to the club after a short stint with Karela United.

The 26-year-old penned down a signed a one-year deal with Karela United after spending eight seasons with Aduana Stars.

However, the experienced defender's is currently out of contract following the expiration of the deal and according to sources close to the player is expected to meet with the management of the Dormaa-Ahenkro-based club in an attempt to lure him back to the club.

“He is close to re-signing for Aduana Stars after leaving them and I can confirm to you that the deal is in an advanced stage," a source told Graphic Sports.

“Saka is looking forward to re-joining the club after he was invited by the club for talks and I expect an announcement in the coming weeks,” the source said.

Having departed Aduana Stars to join new entrants, Karela United, ahead of the 2017-2018 Premier League season, Saka’s contract with the club ended after the cancellation of all football activities following the Anas Aremeyaw Anas expose on football in the country.

The experienced right-back’s arrival could help Aduana Stars in their quest to win the Northern Sector of the Special Competition as they are currently placed third with nine points.
