Resilient Karela United posted a 1-0 win over Elmina Sharks on Sunday, May 5, 2019, at Anyinase in the Normalization Committee (NC) Special Competition to keep their home invincibility intact.

Facing each other in a match week 9 fixture of the competition, it was the home side that came out victorious beating their opponent narrowly at the Crosby Awuah Memorial (CAM) Park to end their unbeaten run in the campaign.

Both sides who have been impressive in the competition were looking forward to picking up maximum points from the match. Though Karela had already shown that they can score goals, the resoluteness of the Sharks team attested to the fact that it wasn’t going to be an easy game for either side.

At the end of a pulsating encounter at the CAM Park, it was Emmanuel Osei Baffuor's first-half strike that made the difference to secure all three points for Karela United.

The victory means Karela remains unbeaten at home in any competitive match since they qualified into the Ghana Premier League. In the Special Competition, they have already beaten Hearts of Oak, Inter Allies and Elmina Sharks at their home grounds.

They have now moved into the second position on the Premier B table with 17 points and will be facing Inter Allies on Match Week 10 this Wednesday.
