Karela United will face tough opposition in Elmina Sharks tomorrow when the two meet on Match Week 9 of the ongoing Normalization Committee (NC) Special Competition.
The stakes are high for either side as they gear up to the encounter especially when they both have 14 points apiece on the Premier B division standings. A win for any of them could see them leapfrog the likes of Accra Hearts of Oak and WAFA into 1st position.
In a preview to the game, the Anyinase based Karela looks favorite to grab all three points owing to the fact that they will be playing at home which has been a fortress for them in the last two years as far as competitive matches are concerned.
In this competition, Karela boasts of 4 wins from 8 matches, having drawn and lost two times respectively. The record in the division sees them 4th on the log but still with the possibility of qualifying to the next round of the competition.
Sharks, on the other hand, has been one of the standouts teams in the competition, boasting of a good defense which has been able to withstand some of the best attacks in the past 6 weeks. The Elmina based team is yet to lose a match despite featuring 8 times already. They have a record of 3 wins and 5 draws leaving them 3rd on the group table.
The match is expected to be cagey especially with both sides knowing that a slip will be bad in their quest to clinch qualification into the next phase.
The match will be played on Sunday, May 5, 2019, at the Crosby Awuah Memorial (CAM) Park in Anyinase. Kick off time is at 15:00GMT.
