Cape Coast, Dec. 22, GNA - Mr Mathew Doe retained his post as Chairman of the Central Region Football Association at elections held at the Robert Mensah Sports stadium at Cape Coast on Wednesday. Mr Doe who has held the post for the past 13 years polled 58 votes against 13 votes by Mr Jojo Duncan, Chairman of Kasoa Proud United. The newly elected Chairman thanked the delegates for the confidence reposed in him and promised to live up to expectation.

Dr Samuel Lamptey, Chairman of the Regional Sports Council who presided, commended the delegates who comprised team managers, referees and representatives of Division Two clubs for the peaceful atmosphere in which the elections were conducted.

He however expressed concern over the high incidence of indiscipline during soccer matches and appealed to the delegates to assist the executive of the RFA to stem such negative behaviour. 22 Dec 05
