Accra, Dec 19, GNA - The National Chapters Committee of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club has denied ever saying they are against certain appointments made by the Board of Directors of the club.
A statement signed by Mr Ken Saro-Wiwa, Public Relations Officer of the Club, copied to the GNA Sports said, "We were only making a public acknowledgement of reactions we had received from a lot of our fans and what we as their leaders were doing about it".
He said the Committee only therefore stated that an emergency meeting had been convened for various stakeholders within the Chapters organisation to discuss the various points of view being expressed after which they would make a statement.
According to the statement, the meeting took place in the presence of the Vice Chairman of the Board who also expressed members concern and promised to convey them to the Board Chairman.
The statement reiterated, "We repeat that we did not make a categorical statement rejecting any of the Board's appointment". The statement therefore urged all Chapters and supporters of the Club to remain calm and continue to channel their concerns through their representatives who will be attending various meetings to be held over the next few weeks.
