Kumasi Asante Kotoko goalkeeper, Felix Anan has called on supporters of the club to troop to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium tomorrow when they host Zambian giants Zesco United for their second group match of the CAF Confederations Cup.
The Ghanaian gianst are looking to amass all three points on the day to ensure they revive their chances of qualifying from their group following a 1-0 loss to Al Hilal Omdurman in their group opener.
Speaking at a pre-match conference earlier today ahead of the Zesco match, Felix Anan applauded the undying support the team has always received from their supporters whenever they played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
According to him, the team is happy the kickoff time has been pushed from the initial 1pm to 4pm as he believes it will give more fans the opportunity to find their way to the stadium even on a working day.
“Initially you know as CAF stated it like 1pm we knew it was going to be difficult because it is a working day. But even we believe in our fans and even with the 1pm we knew that they were going to come in their numbers to support us and now the time has been changed to 4pm”, Felix Anan said.
He continued “We know definitely they are going to come because they are important to us. Looking at our games at home they have been a massive support to us so we know the important part they play in our games so we know definitely they are coming. But we want to plead to them that they should come in their numbers to support us because we play for them. They are the reason why we work on them on this pitch”.
Kotoko currently sits 3rd on the Group C table with no point. If they are able to win tomorrow, they will be on the same point with leaders Zesco United which will automatically open the group. In the other group C match Nkana Red Devils will come up against Al Hilal.
