Clap For Alleged FA Officials That Paid Anas For Number 12 – Abbey Pobi
If indeed Ghana Football Association officials paid Anas to conduct investigations and come out with the Number 12 video then those people should be applauded, experienced football administrator and bankroller of Neoplan Stars, Jonathan Abbey Pobi has said.
It can be recalled that former GFA President Lawyer Kwasi Nyantakyi in an exclusive interview with Net 2 Tv last week revealed that some people within the association paid investigative Journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas $400,000 to investigate him.
Speaking to Class Fm over the weekend however, Mr. Abbey Pobi stated that if that be the case then Ghanaians especially football people should clap for those who raised the money for the investigation. According to him, it is through the exposé that there is now evidence of corruption at the GFA which has now given the country an opportunity to reform its football.
“If that be the case then we have to clap for those people because they have done well. Our football was out of order for the past 13 years and there was nothing done that one could do to bring these things to an end. If we have evidence then why don’t we clap for those people who did it”, Mr. Abbey Pobi shared.
He continued “Well there is something going on. At least we have seen referees who have been banned by FIFA and CAF. I think there is a change and now everybody who matter in football is sitting up. Everybody is afraid now. If you are doing something you must be very careful. I think at least we have gotten something out of this Anas exposé”.
Following the Number 12 video, a Normalization Committee has been put in place by FIFA to reform football and ensure the proper things are done before paving way for a new FA President.
