Former Chief Executive Officer of Accra Hearts of Oak, Mr. E.M. Commodore Mensah has been elected as the substantive Board Chairman of the phobian fraternity at a meeting this evening.

An initial speculation that Chief Executive Officer of Strategic Initiative Institute, James Akpo might get the nod has been squashed as the Directors today decided on Mr. E.M. Commodore Mensah.

Mr. Commodore is a private businessman and a former PNDC secretary for Agriculture.

He polled 16 votes as against 6 on the part of Mr. Harry Zakkour. Mr. Ernest Thompson retained his position as Board Secretary of the club whilst Mr. Steve Mawuyenga, was unopposed for the position for Vice B! oard Chairman.

Meanwhile, the position for Chief Executive Officer of the club is expected to be advertised in the coming months for interested aspirants to apply for the position.

The Management team, headed by Tommy Okine, is therefore still in force and will only fade out after a substantive Chief Executive has been named by the Board of the club. The Board of Directors are expected to meet on Wednesday and take critical decisions with respect to the Chief Executive position.
