THE RACE to secure places in the lucrative Fun Play Middle League is growing, with 12 Division One clubs, putting bits and pieces together, in their quest to join next season's Premiership, writes Isaac Franklin.
The twelve clubs, which qualified from the Zonal League of the Division One League to the Sub-Middle League, would battle it out in their 2nd Week fixtures, at a number of league centres, today.
Ironically, a cagey duel would be witnessed at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium, in Accra, where Swedru All Blacks clash with Wise Fighters, formerly Eleven Wise.
The two sides won their 1st Week encounters, and are therefore, expected to dish out crackers, today.
Also, to thrill soccer fans would be the match between Great Olympics and Tema Youth, at the Robert Mensah Stadium, in Cape Coast.
Olympics have been excellent ever since they were relegated to the Division One League, early this year, but face a wounded side, Tema Youth. The Tema lads surrendered to a defeat at the hands of Mariners, and are poised to make amends, in today's duel.
At the Koforidua Park, Kesben FC would take on Gold Stars, in another thriller, while Ho Home Stars pitch camp against Great Mariners, at Sekondi Gyandu Park.
