Emmanuel 'Game Boy' Tagoe has suffered a hand injury in training which has necessitated the postponement of his scheduled WBO Africa lightweight title defence from the original date of this Saturday, January 26 to a new date of February 23, 2019, on Asamoah Gyan Fight Night 2.

His Russian opponent, Vyacheslav Gusev who was scheduled to land in Accra tomorrow for the fight, will now not arrive until the fight week late next month.

Emmanuel 'Game Boy' Tagoe (29-1, 14 KOs) who has been signed by DiBella Entertainment fighter makes a return for what might probably be his last fight in Ghana for a long time when he defends the recently captured WBO Africa lightweight belt against experienced Russian, Vyacheslav Gusev (25-5, 8 KOs) on Asamoah Gyan Fight Night 2 at Bukom Boxing Arena come January 26, but the date has moved forward.

Also at stake will be both WBO Global and IBF international titles, and the Game Boy says he is coming up with a new show, new technique and new arsenals to end the fight on time if the opportunity comes.

Emmanuel Tagoe has been training in a secret camp on the outskirts of the city to help him shy away from the bustling hot James Town to a cool environment where he can concentrate and focus on the fight and his future.

His new managers in the USA, Di Bella Entertainment have lined up a package for him to move on and win more titles.

As part of the plans, he will move on to train and continue his boxing career in the USA, where he can rub shoulders with the best of the best.

Game Boy was discovered by the late Napoleon Tagoe of Will Powers Boxing Gym at James Town.

He moved from the Will Power Gym to the Black Panthers Gym which belonged to the late Emmanuel Tagoe, his uncle, then he was spotted by professor Azumah Nelson, but the Zoom Zoom could not manage to sign and train the gifted but stubborn boxers until his luck shine in the heart of the Gyan brothers who took him to Baby Jet Promotions.

Tagoe’s journey in boxing has not been all that smooth as he encountered problems and difficulties with opponents, managers, the media and even fans.

But as he matures he is learning and has learnt a lot as a gentleman and a boxer.

After February 2019, the Game Boy will open a new chapter and he says beyond the sky is the limit.

He still believes he is the current king of boxing in Ghana and has won the most titles than any Ghanaian boxer.
