Former Asante Kotoko trainer, Isaac 'Opele' Boateng has called on the management to issue a statement to guarantee his safety if they want to see him supporting the club.

The supporters of the club threatened the experienced gaffer never to show up at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium after he slammed the management of the club after they decided to compete in the CAF Confederation Cup whiles there are no active football activities in the country.

The former Tema Youth coach has consistently said that he has rescinded his allegiance for the Porcupine Warriors but have called on the management of the club to guarantee him of his safety anytime he comes to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

"I am happy George Amoako is in the studio and I must congratulate them for qualifying to the group stage of the CAF Confederations Cup," he told Asempa FM.

"I have apologized to the club for my unfortunate comments I made when they decided to play in Africa. I have spoken to the Executive Chairman of the club [Dr Kwame Kyei] and he accepted my apology and he has pledged to meet me whenever he comes to Accra.

"As a former coach of the club, if the club wants to see me at the Baba Yara Sports Sports, then the club must issue a statement to guarantee my safety," he added.

Asante Kotoko have qualified for the group stage of the CAF Confederations Cup after 11 years and have pitched in Group C alongside Al Hilal of the Sudan and Zambia duo of Zesco United and Nkana FC.
