According to SportsworldGhana.com, the government of Ghana is set to give Asante Kotoko $250k for qualifying for the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
The Ghana Premier League side defeated Coton Sport 5:3 on aggregate to book their place in the group phase of the competition.
However, the Porcupine Warriors have been drawn in Group C alongside Al Hilal and Zambian duo Zesco United and Nkana FC.
Kotoko will now enjoy a huge financial support as the government looks ready to support them to go far in the 2018-2019 Caf Confederation Cup.
Sources within government say this will not only be limited Asante Kotoko as the government is institutionalizing it.
Other Ghanaian clubs that will subsequently qualify for the group stage of either the CAF Champions League or the Confederation Cup will be given the same amount of money as a source motivation for the clubs to perform in Africa.
