Ghana Premier League side, Aduana Stars have confirmed the exit of defender, Stephen Anokye Badu following the expiration of his contract.

Anokye-Badu joined the Dormaa lads in 2015 from BA Stars following the demotion of the Sunyani-based club in the said year.

The 27-year-old has been a key figure for the club and has won two Premier League titles with the club.

Aduana are ready to offer another contract to the centre-back but Anokye insists he has paid his dues for the Dormaa-based club and for that matter, he wants to open a new chapter in his football career.

“It is true that Stephen Anokye Badu has willingly left Aduana Stars after the expiration of his contract," the mouthpiece of the club, Evans Oppong told ATL FM.

“In fact, we wanted to renew his contract but he insisted that he wants to leave so we had no option than to allow him to go and find his replacement," he added.

Aduana Stars are looking forward to name their new coach within this week.
