Accra Hearts of Oak’s Director of football and first team head coach, Kim Grant has disclosed that he is using the numerous friendly matches they have been playing to get his side ready for the upcoming Normalization Committee (NC) special competition.

The former Black Stars striker has been in charge of the Phobians since last year December and has been on a mission to build a formidable side that will eventually be a tough nut to crack despite the opponents they face.

Speaking to Sky Power Fm yesterday, the gaffer revealed the results of the friendly matches they have been playing is not all that important. What he is particular about is how to get his lads ready and fit for the upcoming novelty competition which can potentially land them a slot in the next edition of the CAF Champions League.

“The result is not so important for me. Again it’s about application and how we are going to play and our team tactics which is important so we will see how it goes but hopefully it will be a very good game for the fans as well as the Hearts fans based in the Western Region”, Kim Grant said.

Under his tutorage, the Rainbow boys have played as many as 9 matches. Won 7, lost 1 and drawn 1. They have also been on free goal scoring run whiles ensuring that they concede less.

Next up Hearts will travel to Daboase in the Western Region this Sunday to play another friendly match. Coach Grant is looking forward to getting a good test for his squad.

“Sky is a very good team. I know the goalkeeping coach there. I know their head coach there and for me it was ideal for me to get my team prepared for the new cup competition coming up and I believe they will give us a test”, he said.
