The 16 Premier League clubs have agreed to play the Special Competition after a meeting with the Normalisation Committee on Tuesday morning.

The clubs on last week Friday issued a statement to boycott the competition proposed by the Normalisation Committee.

They claimed that they are unhappy with the decision of the four-member committee to pay the match bonus of the players directly and also rejected the format of the competition.

The modalities of the competition was to involve the 48 Division One League clubs and 16 Premier League to play together in a group/ knockout competition.

But the Premier League clubs wanted a competition of their own and decided to opt out of the plans of the normalisation committee.

However, following the meeting, the Normalisation Committee have backed down on their format and will not pay players directly.

A new format will be revealed soon with the competition expected to start in February.

The Normalization Committee was instituted by FIFA following the airing of the 'Number 12' video by Anas Aremeyaw Anas which unravelled the rot in Ghana football in June 2018.
