Maxwell Baako Heap Praises On Coach CK Akunnor After Coton Sports Win

Asante Kotoko winger, Maxwell Baako has hailed head coach CK Akonnor for guiding the club to victory over Coton Sports.

The Ghana Premier League boosted their chances of qualifying for the group stage of the CAF Confederations Cup after defeating the home side 3:2 on Sunday afternoon.

Baako who registered the second goal for the Porcupine Warriors has eulogized Akonnor for masterminding the victory.

According to him, former Dreams FC trainer psyched the players towards victory ahead of the game which gingered them to record the historic victory.

“C.K is a great coach," he said. "Even before we came to Cameroon, he motivated us to win the game.

"So it’s not surprising that we have been able to win,” he said after the game.

“He’s made us aware that the second leg will be a difficult game than what we met in Cameroon so we will fight and win that one too,” he added.

Kotoko have a higher chance of booking qualification to the group stage of the competition and will need to avoid defeat against Cotton Sport at the Baba Yara Stadium on January 20 to see them cement a group stage berth.
