George Amoako Hoping For Clinical Finishing From Kotoko Ahead Of Coton Sport 2nd Leg

General Manager for Kumasi Asante Kotoko, George Amoako is hoping to see the forward line of the club being clinical in their second leg tie with Coton Sport Garoua as they look to book a place in this year’s CAF Confederations Cup Group stage.

The Ghanaian club recorded an important win Yesterday in Cameroon in an exciting match that produced five goals. Kotoko eventually ending the match as 3-2 winners. Emmanuel Gyamfi, Maxwell Baakoh, and Abdul Fatawu Safiu were the scorers on the day.

The Porcupine Warriors could have added more but were unable to convert a good number of the chances they created.

Speaking in a post-match interview yesterday, George Amoako bemoaned the missed chances whiles stressing that the side will need to be more clinical when they host Coton Sport this weekend in Kumasi.

“When you look at the misses, on any good day we could have converted, you need to concentrate on the game," he shared.

He believes that to go far in the continental competition, it is essential for the team to work on their scoring. He is confident the team will improve going forward whiles commending the players for their stellar performance in Cameroon.

"If you want to do well in the group stage, you don't miss such chances, but I'm very sure the coach as seen such chances and we will work on it to improve us. I am not taking anything away from the team, they played well. Playing away and dominating the game and everybody clapping for you is wonderful he ended”, George Amoako said.

The second leg of the tie comes on this Sunday, January 20 at the Bara Yara Stadium. A good result for Kotoko will see them progress to the Group stage of the CAF Confederations cup competition.
